Do you know if they have a booth set up here? Let us know where and we'll get a picture. Anybody with a specific photo request can post them here or e-mail bikerblog@thesunnews.com.

I think these bikers are old enough to have already made a choice in their lives. WHy try to force something on them when they are trying to ahve fun and spending tons of money to do it they dont want to be preached to. if they did they would visit church on sunday...

The Christian Biker groups that I have been around, gave out free food and drinks for bikers. Some of the bikers that came for free food, also ask for prayer over situations they had in their lives. Nobody preached to them or crammed Jesus down their throat. Don't be so fast to judge a useful service.

The "bikers" better get right with Jesus because they are dropping like flies thanks to the laws of physics. Or maybe buy a decent helmet instead of another stupid piece of Hardly chrome. P.S., dogpaddling from one bar to another is not "biking" its DUI.

Why do people assume that Christian groups are trying to "cram" anything down anyone's throat. It's O.K. to "preach" pro-abortion or pornography, but mention Jesus and you get attacked.

I attended the bike rally from Sat. May 13th -18th.and to my dismay I watched the Surside Police harrass many bikers. Speeding tickets were written unnecessarily. They knew they were going to get ticket money from people out of town just trying to enjoy themselves. Did others get harrassed as me and my companion?

Christians enjoy riding too! We love the Lord and enjoy motorcycling. We can do both.
There are over 700 local chapters of CMA (Christian Motorcylists Association)with around 90,000 riders plus family members that enjoy riding.
My husband and I belong to The Christian Motorcycle Association of Charlotte, NC.
We visited Myrtle Beach during Bike Week as we always do. We too had fun, spent money, AND were able to pray with others while there. We enjoyed the bike ride down, the beach area, looking at others bikes and being with our Christian friends that we ride with. We did no preaching, however, we would be glad to share the "Good News" with the motorcycling population if someone wanted to know about Jesus The Son and our rides for the "Son"
Being a Christian does not mean we don't have fun. We enjoy and appreciate what God has given us and done for us.Being good will not get us to Heaven...Being forgiven by The Son will.
Hope this helps to understand "US/CMA' the other riders.
In Christian Love.

Glenda Brannon-
You didn't mention wether you were actually speeding or not... I worked for years with the Sheriff's office and worked many biker weeks. I know we didn't go out of our way to write tickets. We didn't have to. Any group as large as the Harley riders will have it's share of speeding, DUI and drunk and disorderly. As a biker myself I just hope that the few don't spoil it for all.
