Obama's Moral Case For Libyan Intervention

Obama's Moral Case For Libyan Intervention

In the run-up to the war with Iraq, critics said it would be hypocritical to claim to be trying to stop a dictator there while not trying to stop dictators everywhere. I didn't buy that argument then -- I wrote several times that just because you can't stop atrocities everywhere doesn't mean you shouldn't stop them where you can -- and I don't buy it today in regards to Libya. There are plenty of legit reasons to question our efforts in Iraq and Libya, but the notion that we shouldn't help oppressed people in those areas because so many others are oppressed is nonsense.
