Public Policy Polling, which has been one of the most accurate pollsters concerning South Carolina elections -- I started paying attention to them during the presidential race -- shows Rep. Nikki Haley with a commanding lead in the race for the Republican gubernatorial nomination. Of course, the pollsters say it was taken before the affair allegations, so who knows how those numbers will change by June 8. The poll also found that 58 percent of S.C. Republicans support the 1964 Civil Rights Act and that Gov. Mark Sanford's approval among that group is at 51 percent even today.
