The continuous discussion of Sarah Palin is elevating her to the status she aspires to have. In politics and show business, there is no such thing as bad publicity (if it's spun correctly). Just ask Bill Clinton. The way he handled the criticism of his philandering helped him secure my vote (once). This woman has a very good chance at being our next president. Everytime she is criticized for some minor crap like her relationship with Levi or spending too much on clothes, some hillbilly or party line Kool-Aid drinker is pulling the mental lever for her. But to pull this off more assuredly, I think her timing was off a bit. The book gained her more money at this juncture but will probably lose momentum by election time.
People keep forgetting that right or wrong has little to do with politics. It's a nasty business and just because Sarah is all bluster and lipstick and low on substance doesn't mean that she is incapable of winning. And you will never convince the people that will vote for her that she doesn't have the skill set to make the best decisions for this country. Attempts to do so are actually counter productive.

I like Palin, and I would love to engage in a discussion of her policy positions, but seems to me the fact that the current administation is making decisions that are actually making this country less safe are far more important right now:

The decision to try KSM in Federal Court in NY is a monumental mistake which will have far reaching adverse effects on our ability to keep our nation safe. Of all the decisions this administration has made, this may well be the most ill-advised and poorly considered.

...And then, right on time, Newsweek does another story to keep Ms. Palin in the limelight by giving her a reason to get on Facebook again. These guys just don't get it.

This one gave me a laugh. I like that last line. "If she can't run a book signing, how can she run a country?" As a very conservative person, I can get with some of her policy. But her use of rhetoric like "death panels" is condescending and simplistic; meant to resonate with knee jerk voters fueled by emotion. Then, of course, there is her love of quitting when she gets bored or finds something shinier to look at. I get the feeling she feels the rules don't apply to her.
